The company is aggressively promoting the handset globally with ad campaigns hitting the web and TV spots in various parts of the world and it seems to be leaving no stone unturned.
The new ad campaign kicked off with the teaser video that has the tagline, 'Learning from you'. The video also reveals the design of the upcoming handset. The video closes with a teaser of the black round-edged device that clearly shows the rear camera with up and down arrows above and below it.
The South Korean handset maker has also started the countdown for the launch of the G2 on an official LG G2 site showing a man with the device in hand. The site will live stream the event scheduled for August 7 in New York.
Last week LG announced that it will be dropping the Optimus tag, and would name its next flagship phone G2. With this the company is expected to carry only the G name with the future smartphones while the branding of mobile devices that have been launched earlier will continue to carry the Optimus tag.
LG's next flagship smartphone, the G2 is likely to be the successor of the Optimus G launched last year and is rumoured to be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone is also expected to feature back-mounted volume controls. It is likely to sport a 5.2-inch full-HD display and would run on Android 4.2.2
The LG G2 has been in the rumour mills for a while now. A few weeks back, the phone's specification and design was revealed through a leaked video.
Here is the teaser video.
