Lenovo, as promised
, unveiled its Vibe X3 smartphone on Monday in China. The company revealed two variants of the Lenovo Vibe X3
priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 26,000) for the 32GB storage variant and CNY 1,889 (approximately Rs. 19,500) for the 'Youth' variant. The Chinese company also announced a top end variant, with 64GB inbuilt storage, priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 31,000).
Notably, all the models are now available for pre-orders in China. Unfortunately, there is no word when Lenovo plans to launch its new Vibe X3 (known as Lenovo X3 Lemon in China) variants outside China, or the Android version used by the company.
Both Lenovo Vibe X3 variants feature some of common innards, such as a 5.5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection from scratches. Both sport a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel just below the primary camera. They both come with hybrid dual-SIM slots, which means users can either use two SIM cards or a single SIM card alongside a microSD card. Both the variants feature 4G LTE connectivity support.
The biggest difference between the high-specced Vibe X3 and the Vibe X3 (Youth) variant is in chipset, RAM, and storage. The Vibe X3 packs a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Youth variant comes with a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM.
The Vibe X3 comes in 32GB and 64GB built-in storage variants. The Youth variant features 16GB inbuilt storage. All models support expandable storage up to 128GB (via microSD)
The Vibe X3 sports a 21-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, LED flash, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), and 4K video recording support. There is an 8-megapixel front facing camera on board as well. The Vibe X3 (Youth) variant, on the other hand, features a 13-megapixel rear camera alongside a 5-megapixel front camera. Both the variants also differ in the battery department as well, with the Vibe X3 including a large 3600mAh battery while the Youth variant packs a 3400mAh battery.
