Lenovo India on Wednesday announced that its newly launched Vibe K5 smartphone would go on open sale via Amazon India from July 4. The company said it has sold over 100,000 units of the smartphone in the past two flash sales, with 48,500 units sold in Wednesday's sale.
The company said it has ramped up production of the
Lenovo Vibe K5 to meet demand. To recall, the first flash sale was held last week. With the open sale model, interested consumers will not need to register to purchase the smartphone.
The
Lenovo Vibe K5 is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM cards) smartphone that was first
unveiled back at
MWC 2016 alongside the Vibe K5 Plus. The
Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus however made it to India in
March at Rs. 8,499.
The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Vibe K5 sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 SoC that's coupled with 2GB of RAM. It bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The phone bears 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Lenovo Vibe K5 runs on a 2750mAh removable battery, measures 142x71x8.2mm, and weighs 150 grams.
Connectivity options on the Lenovo Vibe K5 include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, 4G (with support for Indian LTE networks). Sensors on the phone include proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope.
