Lenovo India on Wednesday announced that its popular A6000 Plus smartphone, which normally is sold in the flash sale model on Flipkart, will be made available in an open sale on Monday and Tuesday.
The Lenovo A6000 Plus (Review | Images) open sale will be conducted on Flipkart itself, and the company notes that the sale dates coincide with the e-commerce company's own electronics sale.
After the two days of the open sale, the Lenovo A6000 Plus will once again be made available in the flash sale model, with the next sale scheduled for June 2. As before, interested buyers will have to register in advance for the flash sale.
To recall, the Lenovo A6000 Plus is the refreshed version of the Lenovo A6000 smartphone that was launched earlier this year at CES 2015. While the A6000 Plus was made available in India in April at Rs. 7,499, the A6000 was made available in India in January at Rs. 6,999. The smartphone competes with other 4G LTE-enabled smartphone in sub-Rs. 10,000 segment, such as the Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi 2.
We recently reviewed the Lenovo A6000 Plus, and found it to be a good refresh, with the doubling of inbuilt storage space and memory making it an even better value purchase than the original was. Unfortunately though, the A6000 Plus still has the average cameras and lack of protective glass on the screen as seen on its predecessor.
The Lenovo A6000 Plus features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC with Adreno 306 400MHz GPU. The Android 4.4.4 KitKat-based smartphone runs Lenovo's Vibe UI 2.0 skin on top. It features Dolby Digital Plus speakers.
Other specifications include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash; a 2-megapixel front camera; apart from a removable 2300mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 11 days of standby time on 2G/ 3G, and up to 22 hours of talk-time on 2G and 13 hours on 3G. The Lenovo A6000 Plus supports the same 4G bands as the A6000, i.e., FDD 800MHz / 1800MHz / 2100MHz / 2600MHz (Band 1, 3, 7, 20), and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40). The smartphone measures 141x70x8.2mm and weighs 128 grams.
