Chinese company LeEco has confirmed an event on June 29 where it is expected to reveal a new smartphone powered by the anticipated Snapdragon 821 (which has reportedly been rebranded as the Snapdragon 823) processor. LeEco is expected to showcase the new smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, Shanghai which also commences on June 29.

The official teaser from the company doesn't reveal much about the product but there are rumours that suggest the handset will pack Snapdragon 821 or 823 processor. If this comes out to be true, the new LeEco smartphone may be the first handset powered by the new chipset. We already know that Qualcomm at CES 2016 had revealed the first smartphone powered by Snapdragon 820 processor as the Le Max Pro. Both the companies may again collaborate for the new processor. We will have to wait till June 29. The way rumours are shaping up, LeEco may launched the Le Max 2 Pro at the event.

Gizmo China reports that the new LeEco smartphone may sport 8GB of RAM alongside 25-megapixel rear camera. The report claims that the upcoming LeEco handset may be priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,000).

The Chinese company is gearing to enter the US market this fall. The company confirmed that LeEco is hiring employees in the US which means it will kick off operations soon. LeEco however hasn't revealed a fixed timeline for the US market entry.

LeEco recently launched the Le Max 2 and Le 2 smartphones in India. The Le Max 2 comes in two variants - first priced at Rs. 22,999 for the 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant, and second priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant. The Le 2 smartphone, on the other hand, was priced at Rs. 11,999.
