Lava X81 With 4G LTE Support, Android Marshmallow Launched at Rs. 11,499

Lava, soon after launching the X46 smartphone, on Thursday unveiled a new X-series smartphone, the X81. Priced at Rs. 11,499, the Lava X81 will be going on sale online exclusively via Flipkart starting June 13 and will be also available via physical retail stores. The company has announced that the Lava X81 smartphone comes with Airtel's double data offer without detailing the maximum limit and validity. The smartphone will be also covered under a 1-year free screen replacement offer from Lava; though this will be for purchases within the first month only. Lava has confirmed that it will launch a Gold colour variant of the Lava X81 next month.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Star OS 3.0 out-of-the-box, the Lava X81 features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved display offering a pixel density of 294ppi. It also sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The dual-SIM dual standby Lava X81 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor clubbed with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of built-in storage which is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB). The handset is backed by a 2700mAh battery.

The Lava X81 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and f/ 2.0 aperture. There is a 5-megapixel front camera which also packs front flash. It measures 142.6x73.4x8.4mm. The 4G-enabled Lava X81 is said to support VoLTE via a future FOTA (firmware over-the-air) update. Apart from 4G, the smartphone supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, and 3G connectivity options.
