Lava has launched a new X-series smartphone, the X46, priced at Rs. 7,999. The smartphone is now listed on the company site with no details about availability. We can expect the handset to go on sale soon.
The biggest highlight of the Lava X46 smartphone is it supports VoLTE (voice over LTE) with HD voice call compatibility. It also supports both 4G LTE bands in India - FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) - with an LTE Cat 4 modem that offers download speeds of up to 150Mbps. The company says both SIM slots are 4G enabled; though, at one time only one SIM can use 4G.
At this price point, Lava's new X46 could compete against Lyf Wind 6, which is priced at Rs. 7,090, and Intex Aqua Shine 4G priced at Rs. 7,699.
The dual-SIM Lava X46 smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with a pixel density of 294ppi. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It packs 8GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Lava X46 sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB, apart from 4G. It packs a 2500mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 16 hours of talk time. It will be available in Gold colour.
