The Lava P7 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The company however promises that the phone will receive a guaranteed upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The P7 supports dual 3G SIMs with dual standby. Lava adds that the smartphone packs the latest Google Indic keyboard that supports 12 Indian languages.
It features a 5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA display and also sports Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. The handset packs 8GB of built-in storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Lava P7 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Both the cameras are equipped with LED flashes. The camera offers various modes and features including Child Mode, which plays sounds such as chuckles, bell sound, and others to attract attention of the child and captures the child's image when his/her face is detected. Other camera features include Live Photo, Panorama, Voice Capture, and Face Beauty. The camera also supports HD video recording. Apart from 3G, the handset supports GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
The handset is backed by a 2000mAh battery which is claimed to offer up to 20 hours of talk time. The company says that the Lava P7 comes with a Power Saver mode. The handset will be available in Blue, Gold (With Pearl Finish), and White colours.
