The Lava Iris Win1 will be exclusively available via Flipkart starting Thursday. It will come bundled with a free flip cover and a screen guard, according to Lava.
By launching the Iris Win1, Lava has joined domestic handset makers such as Celkon, Karbonn, Micromax, and Xolo, which have already launched Windows Phone handsets in the market. Interestingly, Celkon on Monday unveiled its first Windows Phone, the Win 400, at Rs. 4,979.
The Lava Iris Win1 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device and the first smartphone in the company's lineup to run Windows Phone 8.1. It features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) IPS display and includes sensors such as accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (unspecified chipset) alongside 1GB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and BSI+ sensor, while it also houses a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The Lava Iris Win1 includes 8GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
The Iris Win1 packs a 1950mAh battery with no word on talk time and standby time. It comes with GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB connectivity options.
