Lava Iris 405+ Now Receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update

Lava has announced the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for its Iris 405+ smartphone, which was launched running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in January this year, priced at Rs. 6,999.

While the company is yet to reveal the official changelog for the update, it is understood that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS update will bring an enhanced user interface and overall software performance improvements for the smartphone. A new dialer app will also be included in the update.

Separate Android 4.4 KitKat updates are available for Iris 405+ smartphones with build number 'Lava_iris405+_S117_XXXXXXX' and 'Lava_iris405+_S115_XXXXXXX'. The users would have to first download a package sized less than 10MB for either build, and then download the respective 480MB and 489MB Android 4.4 KitKat updates.

The detailed download and installation process, and other information, can be found on the company's dedicated page for the Lava Iris 405+ Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Some of the key specifications of the Iris 405+ are dual-SIM dual standby support; a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display; a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek processor (MTK6572); 512MB of RAM; a 5-megapixel rear camera; a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera; 4GB of inbuilt storage expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 1400mAh battery.

Lava in July rolled out the Android 4.4 KitKat OS update for its Iris 504Q+ smartphone. Notably, the company had launched the smartphone with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, priced at Rs. 13,990. The Lava Iris 504Q+ is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby, and features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS OGS (One Glass Solution) display with a pixel density of 294ppi.
