20,000 units of Xiaomi's
Mi 3 available in its fifth flash sale via Flipkart were sold out in less than three seconds, 2.3 seconds to be precise, for the third time in a row - according to Xiaomi's Vice President, Hugo Barra, who announced the news on Twitter.
Last week, in its fourth flash sale, the company claimed that it sold 20,000 Mi 3 units in 2.4 seconds. Like the previous occasions, the company has been receiving waves of social media rage following each flash sale the company holds.
Xiaomi India's tweet announcing the latest 'sold out' round received mixed responses such as:
The company, also referred to as 'China's Apple', ahead of the fifth flash sale of its Mi 3 smartphone had confirmed that 20,000 units, the same as the fourth flash sale, would be up for sale.
It's worth mentioning that Flipkart's Xiaomi Mi 3 flash sale procedure requires people to just add it to their cart for it to be classified as sold, and people are given additional time to complete their purchase.

Xiaomi also announced that registrations for the next flash sale scheduled for August 26 will begin at 6pm IST Tuesday. The company is yet to reveal the total number of units to be available in the next flash sale.
Xiaomi has been facing a lot of criticism from Indian consumers due to the limited number of Mi 3 units in each flash sale, and the speed of the stock being purchased.
The company had claimed that the first batch of Mi 3 smartphones in India was sold out within 40 minutes of its availability. The second batch of Mi 3 handsets was sold out within 5 seconds.
The third flash sale saw the Mi 3 being sold out in just two seconds. Last week, in its fourth flash sale, the company claimed that it sold 20,000 Mi 3 units in 2.4 seconds.
