iPhone 8 leaks are getting denser by the day, as September nears, however clarity on the Touch ID integration is still a mystery. Now, a fresh report claims that delay in the iPhone 8 shipment is inevitable, and we won't see the smartphone in the market before the end of the year. Furthermore, the report adds that the iPhone 8 will come with facial recognition, and the rumoured Touch ID embedding in the power button is not going to be possibility after all.

All of this comes from Japanese blog Macokatara, which claims that the premium iPhone model will be delayed till the end of the year, possibly late October or early November. Furthermore the report adds that the "initial sale period has a high possibility to be limited." The report also claims that there won't be any White colour option, as rumoured previously, and that the Touch ID inside the power button is unlikely. Facial recognition, however, is very likely to be integrated. It is expected to be called Face ID and it "assembles a rainbow colour certificate and a 3D facial recognition certificate."

Apple iPhone 8 Specifications, Release Date, and More - Leaks and Rumours So Far

While the report claims there will be no White variant, it fails to mention which colours will make it to the list. It does, however note that the front frame will be Black only, indicating colour options will be very few with the iPhone 8. Also, Touch ID underneath the display still remains a mystery, and the report only states that Plan B of power button integration is unlikely. Facial recognition will give rise to a few natural mechanisms that Apple will presumably highlight in the keynote, such as 'Raise to Wake' and more. Lastly, the report claims that the iPhone 8, alongside the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will be unveiled on September 17 (but that's a Sunday?).

We recommend you take all of this with a grain of salt as tipster Benjamin Geskin has simultaneously unveiled contradictory details. He cites a source out of Foxconn to state that the iPhone 8 is already under production, with 200 units being churned out daily. He claims that the iPhone 8 is not delayed, and that a testing device was also spotted to have the fingerprint scanning underneath the display, indicating that this is what Apple will introduce in the final version as well.

Whatever the case may be, the hype around the iPhone 8 refuses to die down, and the tenth-anniversary edition is expected to have a bezel-less OLED display, a fast Apple A11 chip, wireless charging, and better waterproofing as well.
