Apple is holding a special event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Wednesday where the company is expected to unveil new flagship smartphones - iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus - as well as new iPad models and a revamped Apple TV.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus price is expected to remain unchanged from its predecessor, with the base model at $649 for an off-contract iPhone 6s. Storage capacities are rumoured to remain unchanged at 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with a $100 premium for every jump in storage. The new iPhone models are likely to launch (go on sale) in select countries later this month. The iPhone 6s launch date in India is likely to around the festival of Diwali in November. iPhone 6s price in India could be higher than iPhone 6 due to depreciation of rupee, though a lot can change between now and its launch.
The highlight of the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is expected to be camera improvements, as they are expected to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera sensor and 4K video recording support. Another big addition to the new Apple smartphones is expected to be the introduction of Force Touch technology, which can detect the difference between a 'hard' and 'soft' touch on the screen, letting software respond differently to each action. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are also expected to come in a new Rose Gold colour.
In terms of specifications, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are rumoured to be powered by the new Apple A9 SoC alongside 2GB RAM. As far as the software is concerned, a late rumour says that the new iPhone models come with always on 'Hey Siri' mode, which will let users invoke Apple's virtual assistant by simply saying the magic words, eliminating the need of pressing any buttons.
Also at the event, Apple is expected to launch the iPad Pro, a bigger iPad which will be capable of running more than one app side by side and is rumoured to come with a stylus. A revamped Apple TV with support for native apps and a SDK that developers can use to make apps for the box is also expected to be unveiled at Wednesday's event. New Apple Watch bands are also likely to be announced at the event.
