Intex has quietly launched a new Aqua-series budget smartphone, the Aqua Amoled, priced at Rs. 4,540. The Intex Aqua Amoled is now listed on the company's site; however, there is no official word on the availability details of the handset.

The Intex Aqua Amoled is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) Amoled display, as the name suggests.

The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572) processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. The Aqua Amoled comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The rear camera features scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, continuous shot, and HDR options.

On the connectivity front, the Aqua Amoled offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1400mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 5 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time. It measures 123.7x60.5x9.3mm and is listed in Black and White colours.

It comes preloaded with apps such as Intex Zone, Opera Mini, OLX, Newshunt, Saavn, Intex Care, and AskMe.

Intex earlier this month launched the Aqua Speed, priced at Rs. 7,444. The highlight of the smartphone is it features 2GB of RAM and is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Another Intex budget smartphone, the Aqua N7, recently went on sale via an e-commerce website priced at Rs. 3,990. The online retailer listed Rs. 4,434 as the MRP of the Intex Aqua N7.
