Idea launches dual-SIM Android 4.0 Ivory for Rs. 7,390

Idea Cellular has launched another dual-SIM smartphone in the market. Dubbed as Idea Ivory, it comes with 3.5-inch full touchscreen. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is powered by 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM. There is a 4GB internal storage available on this smartphone and a 1,300 mAh battery. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports 3G on one SIM. There is a 3.2megapixel rear camera on-board.

Idea Ivory will be available on the market for Rs. 7,390 in two colour options - Black and White. To sweeten the deal, Idea is offering 1GB of 3G data every month for first 3 months along with subscription to Idea TV for a one-time charge of Rs. 261.

The company has also pre-loaded some popular apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Music Video Player, documents to go, etc. on this smartphone

Speaking on the occasion, Rajat Mukarji, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Idea Cellular said, "Devices play an important role in enhancing service experience for the user, and has been a key component of Idea's 3G growth strategy. Idea Ivory, based on the latest Android 4.0 OS, and all other previous 3G smartphones, have been affordably priced to propagate data usage amongst mass consumers. Idea's continuous focus on enhancing consumer experience, and understanding and providing support to user(s) needs and requirements in the relatively new and emerging service area such as 3G, has enabled us to become the most associated brand with 3G and data."

Idea Ivory is the fifth 3G Android smartphone by this telecom operator in the Indian market. The other smartphones in the portfolio include Idea Aurus, ID 918 and Idea Blade. Idea Cellular also claims that it has already sold more than 2.25 lakh devices so far and is looking to strengthen its position with the launch of Idea Ivory.
