Huawei, after the Nexus 6P, would soon be launching its rumoured Honor Play 5X smartphone on Saturday according to a new teaser. The company has posted a launch teaser on its Weibo account mentioning the date.
The invitation, spotted by Android Headlines, says nothing much about the product, its specifications or price. However, based on previous reports the Honor Play 5X would be featuring a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display; quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz; 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB); 13-megapixel rear camera, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The handset would be running on company's own Emotion UI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Last month Huawei Honor 5X was also spotted on Chinese certification website Tenaa. As for the specifications, the Android 5.1.1-based handset is said to come with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. As for the storage, the Honor 5X as per the listing has 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card should you need more storage.
Other features of the handset include a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It will support 3G, Wi-Fi and other standard connectivity options, as per the listing.
As compared to the soon-to-be-announced Honor Play 5X, the Honor 5X has a bigger and better resolution display, more RAM, and bigger inbuilt storage. The rear and front-facing camera setup would remain the same. Both would also be supporting 4G LTE connectivity.
