The Huawei C199S is the successor to last year's metal-clad C199. Though the company has upgraded the specifications of the new smartphone, it still carries a similar metal-back to its predecessor.
The dual-SIM Huawei C199S runs EMUI 3.0 skinned on top of Android 4.4 KitKat, and features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display.
The Huawei C199S is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 (MSM8928) processor clocked at 1.5GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It features an 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The 16GB internal storage on the smartphone is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
Connectivity options on the Huawei C199S include 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS/ A-GPS. The handset is backed by 3000mAh battery, which is rated to deliver a dual-SIM standby time of up to 200 hours. The Huawei C199S measures 153.5x77.3x7.6mm, and weighs 167 grams.
In December, the company had launched a phablet device, the Ascend GX1, in China at CNY 1,590 (approximately Rs. 16,000). Upfront, the dual-SIM Ascend GX1 boasts of a 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
Other specifications of the Huawei Ascend GX1 include a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz; 1GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash; a 2-megapixel front-facing camera; 8GB internal storage expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB), and a 3500mAh battery.
