It's raining Windows Phone 8 this season. First it was the Samsung ATIV S, then the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 followed by the HTC 8X and 8S. Now Huawei has stepped up with its Windows Phone 8 offering, the Ascend W1.

Richard Yu, Huawei Chairman of devices, revealed the info via social network Sina Weibo but didn't mention anything about the phone's specifications. Chinese website winp further reports that Huawei is expected to ship the device before year end, between November and December. It is rumoured to be unveiled on September 25 with a price tag of 2000 RMB (or $320).

The Ascend W1 will come in black, white, pink and blue colour variants.

Huawei was amongst the first companies along side HTC to confirm that it is working on Windows Phone 8 devices. And now it is also the last of the four manufacturers to finally put a name on its Windows Phone device.

The Chinese manufacturer is not just talking Windows Phone. It also unveiled three new Android smartphones at IFA this year adding to its Ascend line-up, which will feature the new Emotion user interface also showcased at the event.
