Now, a new leak seems to have given the world the first look at Huawei's Ascend P6S octa-core smartphone. Android News Blog has posted a bunch of images of the upcoming Ascend P6S smartphone which reveal the overall design of the smartphone. The leaked images confirm that the Ascend P6S would sport similar design as its predecessor, although it probably won't sport the 'world's slimmest smartphone' tag, as one of the leaked images show a thickness of 7.6mm. To put that in perspective, the Ascend P6 measures in at 6.2mm thickness. Further, the site claims that the Ascend P6S weighs 166 grams.
In addition, Huawei's Ascend P6S was also spotted on the Tenaa (Telecommunication Equipment Certification Centre) site, which can be considered the Chinese equivalent of US' FCC. The Tenaa listing was spotted by Chinese Mobile ITpublication, and also reveals the rumoured specifications of the Ascend P6S.
As per the listing, the Huawei Ascend P6S will sport a 6-inch display with HD (720x1280) resolution. The Ascend P6S is likely to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with company's updated Emotion UI on top. Internally, the upcoming smartphone is expected to equip a HiSilicon K3V2E octa-core chipset clocked at 1.6GHz and 2GB of RAM.
Other specifications expected in the Ascend P6S include an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and 16GB inbuilt storage with no word on expandable storage.
Earlier, Huawei's President confirmed that the upcoming eight-core chipset would feature integrated 3G and would be optimised for extended battery life. Huawei is also expected to roll out the Android 4.4 update for Ascend P6 in January.
