The White colour variant of the Huawei Ascend GX1 is up for purchase via company's online store, and it is not yet known if the smartphone comes in other colour options or not, and more importantly, if Huawei will release it to other markets as well.
Upfront, the dual-SIM Ascend GX1 boasts of a 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display with minimalistic bezels giving it what the company claims to be a screen-to-body ratio of 80.5 percent. The Huawei Ascend GX1 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The Ascend GX1 is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The 8GB internal storage on the device is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
Connectivity options on the Ascend GX1 include 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS/ A-GPS. The handset is backed by 3500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver a dual-SIM standby time of up to 198 hours. The Huawei Ascend GX1 measures 161x84.5x9.2mm, and weighs 173 grams.
Last week, the company had launched the larger version of its Honor 6 smartphone, the Honor 6 Plus, in China. The handset was announced during a company event in China.
