HTC USA in a tweet on Thursday teased, "Something Huge is coming from HTC" tipping the company might have more up its sleeves on March 1. Additionally, benchmark results of two HTC devices have surfaced, with one pointing to a bigger smartphone that could also be launched at the event.
The company has also thrown a riddle to users saying, "Imagine [number][big thing] in space. And then [math term] that by [number]."
Rumours about a possible One (M9) Plus variant have started making the rounds of the Internet. Further cementing that rumour is a benchmark score that has tipped specifications of the HTC One (M9) alongside the HTC One (M9) Plus.
Spotted by Techtastic (first picked up by GSMArena), the Compubench benchmark results of two HTC devices have surfaced showing purported specifications of HTC OPAJ13 (believed to be the One M9) and HTC 0PK71 (thought to be the HTC One M9 Plus).
According to the leaked specifications, the HTC One M9 will feature a 5-inch full-HD display, in-line with previous reports. Other specifications include Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, 20-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera - both cameras featuring 4K video recording capability.
The HTC One (M9) Plus, on the other hand, will sport an upgraded screen - 5.1-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display, octa-core MediaTek MT6795 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of inbuilt storage. According to the leaked benchmark results, the HTC One M9 Plus will also pack a 20-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera.
In another leak, popular case maker Spigen, known for listing cases of yet-to-be-announced flagships, has once again made the news with the early listing of HTC One (M9) cases ahead of the smartphone's official launch. The case maker has listed (via PhoneArena) the cases for the HTC One (M9) on Amazon.
The Spigen case listings on Amazon shows the concept cases mounted on the yet-to-be-launched HTC One (M9); though the front panel is not completely revealed. The back panel image of the HTC One (M9) case listing posted by Spigen shows the rear camera accompanied by the dual-LED flash. The front panel is seen sporting a large front-camera, reminiscent to the HTC Desire Eye smartphone.
