HTC One now available for purchase in the UK
More than a month after the HTC One went up for pre-orders in the UK, the smartphone is now available from major retailers and online stores.

A GSM Arena report mentions that Carphone Warehouse is offering the phone on carriers such as EE, Vodafone, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Three, Talkmobile with plans starting 33 UK Pounds if the customer doesn't want to pay any upfront charges. Dial-a-Phone is also offering the HTC One on contract with Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile, with plans starting at 28 UK Pounds for a contract valid for 18 months while Phones4U is offering the smartphone on contract with Vodafone Orange and EE. The HTC One is also available on Three UK with a monthly fee of 34 UK Pounds  for 24 month contract.

Interestingly, the phone is also available on a pre-paid plan for 480 UK Pounds. Clove UK has priced the SIM free version of the HTC One at 510 UK Pounds. Amazon UK is offering the smartphone for 524 UK Pounds.

Three will ship the HTC One on April 2, while Clove UK will start shipping the Silver colour variant of the phone on April 3   and Black colour variant on April 10. Amazon UK says that it will ship the phone by April 12.

The rollout of the HTC One was delayed due to component shortages including that of camera parts and metal casings. The company had issued a statement mentioning that it would start fulfilling pre-orders by end of March in certain markets and will roll out to more markets as it approaches April.

Just to recap, the HTC One features a 4.7-inch screen with 1080p display. It is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor along with 2GB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, Infrared and Micro-USB. The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) along with a brand new Sense UI.

HTC One will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage options, but there is no option to expand the storage.

There has been a lot of buzz around the HTC One camera, as the company has ditched the conventional megapixel in favour of something that the company dubs as the UltraPixel camera. There is a 2.1-megapxiel front camera and a 2,300mAh battery.
