A new rumour has revealed that HTC's alleged phablet, the One Max, will be coming with a fingerprint scanner at the back, and that it will feature multi-finger recognition capabilities.

Chinese site, CtechCN has published purported images that detail the functions of the rumoured fingerprint scanner on the yet to be officially unveiled HTC One Max. The images indicate that HTC's new feature might provide different icon design for each finger. The site expects that the functions assigned to different fingers could include authentication to lock/ unlock the phone or for mobile payment authorisations among others.

It's worth pointing out that Apple's Touch ID is mainly focused on the usage with thumb while the latest leak hints that HTC might use the multi-function feature for its fingerprint scanner used on the much-anticipated One Max.

Meanwhile, a new render of HTC One Max has also surfaced revealing the alleged phablet in its full glory. The render comes via GSMpedia that also reveals some of the specifications which are in-line with our earlier reports.

A new phablet from HTC seems more likely than ever, given that the Taiwanese giant's has now sent invitations for its October 16 launch event in Hong Kong.

Rumoured specifications of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean-based HTC One Max include a 5.9-inch Super LCD full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) display, 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, and an UltraPixel camera, apart from the fingerprint scanner.

With the HTC Onehaving been comfortably established in the market for a good while now, the launch of HTC's first phablet is expected to strengthen the portfolio of the Taiwanese handset maker.
