Since its launch at MWC conference this year, the HTC One M9 has been running Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. However, some Lollipop features, such as Guest Mode, were seen missing from the handset. Now, an HTC developer has tipped that the next major update for the smartphone will bring that feature, alongside the colour temperature feature.
According to LlabTooFeR, the HTC One M9 would be receiving the Guest Mode feature in its "next major update," which is expected to be the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Furthermore, the update will let users control the One M9's screen colour temperature as well. Notably, the feature is still available but via the third party apps.

There is no word as to when the "next major update" for HTC One M9 will roll out. It is worth mentioning that Google has already started rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop OS for a number of handsets. Last month HTC confirmed that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update will start rolling out to the 2014 flagship, One (M8) in August, complete with Sense 7 UI introduced with the HTC One M9.
Some of the features included in Android 5.1 Lollipop OS update are support for multiple SIM cards, device protection and HD voice on compatible devices. The search engine giant has already seeded the OS version to Nexus, Android One and Motorola handsets.
Last week HTC also announced the start of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update rollout for four of its smartphones - the Desire 816, Desire Eye, One (E8), and One Dual SIM.
