At HTC One (M8) flagship's India launch, the company had announced that the smartphone will go on sale in the first week of May.

However, a week ahead of the May first week release, the HTC One (M8) is now available in retail stores across India (HTC has confirmed the same to NDTV Gadgets), and has also been listed for purchase at online retailers in the country.

Notably, the new flagship from HTC is also available on popular e-commerce website, Flipkart at a discounted price of Rs. 48,120.

NDTV Gadgets had earlier reported that the MRP of the phone would be Rs. 59,900. It's worth pointing out that Flipkart's HTC One (M8) listing confirms the Rs. 59,900 MRP of the handset.

The highlight of the HTC One (M8) is the dual rear camera setup that puts a 4-UltraPixel camera alongside a depth sensing camera, enabling cool things like refocusing images after they've been clicked, and other stuff. A 5-megapixel front camera is included as well. The phone packs a 2600mAh battery and supports Nano-SIM. The HTC One (M8) comes with a body that's '90 percent metal' and exudes the same premium feel as its predecessor, the HTC One.

The One (M8) runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company's brand new Sense 6 UI on top, which HTC is calling the biggest upgrade since Sense debuted.

The phone is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, alongside 2GB of RAM. The HTC One (M8) comes with a 5-inch full-HD display and will be available in 16GB and 32GB storage options, with support for expandable storage via microSD cards of up to 128GB capacity. It is available in Gunmetal Grey, Amber Gold, and Glacial Silver colour options. The phone comes with a 2600mAh battery.

HTC unveiled its One (M8), at an event in New York, and had also showcased the device in India at around the same time.

Earlier, HTC had also announced the budget Desire 210 Dual SIM and the mid-range Desire 816 for the Indian market priced at Rs. 8,700 and Rs. 23,990 respectively.
