HTC M7 render leaks again, more images of Sense 5.0 emerge online

One thing that the HTC M7 isn't afraid of is the camera. Well, the device has appeared once again in two different sets of leaks. While one seems to be a render of the device, the other set of images highlight the Taiwanese manufacturer's latest Sense 5.0 UI.

The unofficial render, courtesy Pocketnow, seems the kind of device we'd expect from HTC as far as looks are concerned. The site claims to have spoken to two HTC sources closely associated with the M7 in the making, who have apparently confirmed that the front is quite similar to the device that's in development.

One can clearly see that HTC plans to play around a bit with the placement of the Android buttons, with the Home option being on the extreme right.

There is no indication on how the back panel of the device will appear in its final form. The image that appears above is just a mock-up of the artist's imagination who used the HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 device as a reference point.

htc-m7-new.jpgIn another set of images posted by Android Police, the HTC M7 seems to be in line with the render we just talked about. The icons on the bottom of the screen are the same, though one can notice the switch between the Home and multi-tasking buttons. The back, however, tells a different story with none of the usual regulatory markings. So we're assuming that this may be a prototype that isn't final yet.

Other details highlighted by the blog show the front camera in the top-right corner and the volume rocker housed on the right side of the device. The HTC logo on the back also is a black and shiny one as opposed to the chromium one we're more used to see. But it doesn't bear the Beats Audio text as shown in the render. Then again, these images are still speculative.

Further screenshots of the software posted by the site indicate a noticeable shift from the company's current Sense interface. There's a new clock widget and the overall look of the interface is very new.

htc-m7-sense-5.0.jpgThe specifications of the smartphone rumoured so far suggest that it comes equipped with a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 13-megapixel rear snapper, a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM.

As far as looks are concerned, the device is rumoured to sport a design similar to the HTC Droid DNA with an all-black shell and a "very nice looking beveled edge" along the screen.

Earlier this month, leaked images of the smartphone showed the HTC M7 running Sense 5.0 and of what perhaps might be the new lockscreen. An earlier image posted by Pocketnow depicted that HTC may have gotten rid of the ring and introduced a swipe-based gesture instead to unlock the screen.

More recently, a render of the device surfaced online, which seemed to be a part of some animation clip instructing new owners on how to install the SIM card in their smartphone.

There were also rumours surrounding the price of the device, which is expected to be more than $600 and be available through all major carriers in the US. However details regarding its debut in other key markets are a bit sketchy as of now.

The device is anticipated to make its official debut at MWC in February 2013.
