HTC today launched the new HTC Incredible S in India for Rs. 28,900. The device has a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera with dual flash, front facing camera, DLNA capabilities, HTC Sense UI, 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 processor, 768 MB RAM, microSD memory card andAndroid 2.2.
The fact that the device runs 2.2 Froyo is a little disappointing. We were hoping any new Android phone to hit the market would support 2.3 Gingerbread straight out of the box.
So is the Incredible S any different from the hoard of Android based smartphones flooding the market. Well not really. The only interesting feature of any HTC based Android Smartphone is the inclusion of the HTC Sense UI. But if you are in the mood to spend around Rs. 25,000 on an Android based smartphone here are a few options for you. Motorola Milestone XT720, Samsung Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Dell Streak, Dell Venue, Acer Liquid Metal to name a few. If you are one who like the HTC Sense UI and are looking for a device under the HTC umbrella, you can take a look at the Desire, Desire Z or the Desire HD.
Coming back to the Incredible S, the device also boasts of a 3.5mm headphones jack, micro USB, digital compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, internal GPS antenna.
The Incredible S claims 580 minutes talk time, 370 hours stand-by time and has a 1450 mAh battery.
The HTC Incredible S was first introduced at MWC 2011.
