HTC is reportedly set to launch its Desire 826 smartphone in India. The firm introduced the handset back in January during the CES 2015 event.
According to an established Mumbai-based retailer, the HTC Desire 826 will be in stock within next 2-3 days - indicating an official launch soon. Mahesh Telecom adds the smartphone will be priced at Rs. 26,200, but has not specified whether phone that will be launched will be the dual-SIM variant, or the single SIM one. The smartphone at company's India's website is still listed under the 'Coming Soon' tag.
The HTC Desire 826 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI skinned on top and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display.
The Desire 826 is powered by an octa-core (four cores at 1.5GHz and four cores at 1.0GHz) 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor alongside Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It sports a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) rear camera with 28mm lens, BSI sensor, and LED flash. The front camera will be a 4-UltraPixel shooter. The 16GB of inbuilt storage on Desire 826 is expandable via microSD card.
Connectivity options on the Desire 826 smartphone include 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. The handset is backed by a 2600mAh battery. The thickness of the smartphone is 7.5mm and it weighs 155 grams. The Desire 826 comes in two-tone colours including White Birch, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Fire.
HTC on Thursday launched the refreshed version of the last year's flagship One (M8) dubbed the HTC One M8s. The 4-UltraPixel duo camera setup has been replaced with a 13-megapixel duo camera. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor of the HTC One (M8) has also been replaced with a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The battery on the HTC One M8s has been bumped up to 2840mAh, which is up from 2600mAh on the One (M8). Rest of the specifications remain the same.
