Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has announced that sixteen of its Android smartphones will be getting the much awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update in the coming months. Company has already started rolling out Android 4.0 updates for Sensation and Sensation XE users in the select countries and others will follow soon.
The devices, which will be getting the ICS update and are also available in the Indian market, include HTC Sensation, Sensation XE, Sensation XL, Desire S, Desire HD, Evo 3D, Incredible S, and Rhyme. HTC will be releasing these update over-the-air, and consumers will get a notification to download and install these update on their devices. Company suggests that you use Wi-Fi to download these update otherwise you might incur significant data charges.
There is no device specific timeline for the update roll-out right now and will be announced closer to the release. Ice Cream Sandwich brings several improvements to the Android devices including UI revamp, performance enhancements, Face unlock and better browsing experience.
