The single-SIM HTC Butterfly 2 smartphone is the successor to the HTC Butterfly launched last year at Rs. 49,990 in India. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. It packs a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 2GB RAM.
The Butterfly 2 comes with 16GB and 32GB of inbuilt storage options, with expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports a duo-camera setup as seen on HTC One (M8) (Pictures | Review) with main sensor at 13-megapixel with dual-LED flash, while a 5-megapixel front-facing camera is also onboard.
Connectivity options on the Butterfly 2 smartphone include Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with DLNA, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with MHL, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity options.
The Butterfly 2 comes with a 2700mAh battery that's rated to deliver a talk time of up to 23.9 hours on 3G, and standby time of up to 643 hours. It will be available in Blue, Red, and White colour options, measures 145.4x70.2x9.99mm, and weighs 151 grams.
The HTC Butterfly 2 is also water-resistant with IPX5 and IPX7 ratings, while HTC says the Butterfly is dust-proof as well, with a IP5X rating. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, gyro sensor, and barometer.

The Butterfly 2 also comes with dual front stereo speakers and HTC's BoomSound technology that is claimed to deliver 25 percent louder output than the HTC One (M8). The company has also collaborated with Harman, to feature LiveStage Signal Processing Technology (Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong only) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
