Honor 5C India Launch Expected Today

The Honor 5C is set to launch in India on Wednesday at an event starting at 11am IST. For now, pricing and availability information is not available. The 4G-enabled smartphone is priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,250) in China, and it should be available at roughly the same price point in India. A 3G variant was also launched in China.

The Honor 5C and Honor 5C LTE both feature a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS LCD display. The dual-SIM smartphone support Micro-SIM cards and the Honor 5C LTE comes with 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM card. The Chinese company touts that the handset supports LTE Cat. 6 which means it can support download speeds of up to 300Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps.

It is powered by the company's in-house HiSilicon Kirin 650 octa-core processor (clocked at 4x Cortex-A53 at 1.7GHz + 4x Cortex-A53 at 2GHz). The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM and packs 16GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The Honor 5C sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. It also sports an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. The rear panel of the Honor 5C also sports the fingerprint scanner.

Apart from 4G, the smartphone supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The smartphone comes with regular Micro-USB charging port. It measures 147.1x73.8x8.3mm and weighs 156 grams. It packs a 3000mAh battery. The Honor 5C runs Emotion UI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
