Since the public availability of Apple iPhone 5, there has been a huge outcry from users over the maps experience on the new iOS. Even a Tumblr blog has been started on the goof ups in the Apple Maps.
Motorola's new ad compares Google Maps on new Droid RAZR M smartphone with Apple Maps on iPhone 5. The ad shows both mapping apps showing the resulting maps, when a user searches 315 e 15th st NY, and while Google Maps takes to the correct location, Apple Maps result is just wrong.
This type of advertising is not new for Apple, which itself has been taking pot-shots at Windows PCs with its "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ad campaign.
Motorola's new iLost ad campaign is particulary interesting because Motorola is now owned by Google and Apple has ditched Google to include its own Maps on iPhone 5, which expectedly did not turn out as good as Google Maps.
Motorola has also taken to Twitter with the hashtag iLost.
Apple iPhone 5 went on sale on September 21 and is out of stock at almost every store in the Unites States. It also sold over 2 million units in just 24 hours of pre-orders.
