Google Play Edition Devices Reportedly Receiving Android 4.4.3 Update

Google has started pushing out the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for Google Play Edition devices, with users reporting OTA availability of the update.

Android Police notes that the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition users are reporting that their devices are receiving the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update OTA (over-the-air).

The Android 4.4.3 KitKat update is an incremental update from Android 4.4.2 and brings security enhancements and various bug fixes to the device.

On Tuesday, a report claimed that Google, after releasing the Android 4.4.3 KitKat factory images for Nexus devices, had started rolling out the update to the Nexus range over-the-air.

The Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi only variant is according to users the first device to receive the Android 4.4.3 update over-the-air. The update for Nexus 7 (2013) tablet comes with build number KTU84L and was about 74MB in size and brings security enhancements and various bug fixes.

Earlier on Monday, T-Mobile had announced it has started rolling out the Android 4.4.3 update to Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) devices.

Motorola too joined the bandwagon and announced Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for its Moto E, Moto G and Moto X.

The company noted that the latest Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for Motorola handsets will start rolling out this week, with the first recipients listed by Motorola. Moto X T-Mobile users would receive the update first, while Moto G users in the US, who bought the smartphone online (also includes Moto G 4G LTE), and the Moto G users in Brazil, will receive the first updates for the handset. For the Moto E, US users who bought the handset online would receive the update first.
