While Google is busy in resolving some of the noted issues on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the rumour mill is abuzz with the Pixel 3 Lite that could emerge as the most affordable model in the new Pixel family. But ahead of any official confirmation around the Pixel 3 Lite, some renders showing the Pixel 3 Lite XL that could be a larger variant of the unannounced Pixel model has now surfaced on the Web. The renders show that the new model will come with the aesthetics of the Pixel 3 XL, albeit with the lack of a display notch design. The smartphone is also compared with the Pixel 3 Lite.
The CAD-based renders, courtesy OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, show that the Pixel 3 Lite XL will have a dual-tone finish at the back - matching the design of the Pixel 3 models. The smartphone also appears to have a bigger build than the Pixel 3 Lite. Unlike the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 3 Lite XL is found to have a 3.5mm headphone jack. This seems similar to the Pixel 3 Lite that is so far rumoured to have the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
On the part of design similarities between the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL, both models are found to have a volume rocker and a power/ lock button on the right, while a SIM tray is located on the left. There is also a USB Type-C port at the bottom that sits alongside two speaker grilles. The back of both new Pixel models is found to have a single rear camera setup along with a dual-tone LED flash and a fingerprint sensor, aligning with the Google logo. The dual-tone finish available at the back of the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL matches what's been featured on the bigger Pixel models.
Early hands-on coverage of a purported Pixel 3 Lite unit recently suggested that despite having the similar dual-tone finish at the back, the low-cost model has a polycarbonate construction instead of any glass build. It is rumoured that Google will unveil the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL in Black and White colour options - with the White option will sport a power button in Neon Green colour.
The Google Pixel 3 Lite is said to have a 5.5-inch full-HD+ display along with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC, coupled with Adreno 615 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is also rumoured to have a single, 12-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,915mAh battery along with Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4+ support.
In contrast, the Pixel 3 Lite XL is said to have a 6-inch full-HD+ display and come with a measurement of 160x76.1x8.2mm. The handset could also include a Snapdragon 710 SoC if we look at the recent ARCore APK teardown that highlighted two new Google handsets with codenames 'Bonito' and 'Sargo'. Notably, the Pixel 3 Lite is already rumoured to be the final version of the Sargo handset.
Google could unveil the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL sometime in the first quarter of next with a starting price between $400 and $500 (roughly Rs. 28,500 to Rs. 35,600). Meanwhile, it is safe to expect some other leaks revealing more details around the two new Pixel models.
To recall, the Pixel 3 Lite has so far been spotted next to the Pixel 3 as well as the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone 5s, and the Nokia 3310.
