First reported by Caschys Blog (via Phone Arena), both the new Nexus devices are priced significantly higher than than their previous versions.
According to two German retailers, Media Markt and Saturn, the Google Nexus 6 will start at EUR 569 (roughly Rs. 44,000) for the 32GB version and EUR 649 (roughly Rs. 50,300) for the 64GB model. Interestingly, both the retailers have listed the Google Nexus 6 prices for 32GB and 64GB models, suggesting that Google might finally dump the 16GB model.
This year Apple has also dumped its 32GB variant for a 128GB version, and it seems Google is following the suit by dumping the lowest 16GB model. However, the German retailer does not list a third storage variant of the Google Nexus 6.
The Google Nexus 9, on the other hand, is listed in three variants. The 16GB Wi-Fi model is priced at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 31,000), the 32GB Wi-Fi at EUR 489 (roughly Rs. 38,000), and the 32GB LTE model at EUR 569 (roughly Rs. 44,100).
Considering that European prices of devices are generally pegged on US dollar prices, we can expect the Google Nexus 6 aka Nexus X and Google Nexus 9 to be priced correspondingly in the US, making them slightly cheaper, with the Google Nexus 6 therefore starting at $569 (roughly Rs. 35,000), and the Nexus 9 starting at $399 (roughly Rs. 24,500)
Earlier on Wednesday, the purported pricing for the Nexus 9 tablet was rumoured to be - $399 (Rs. 24,500 approximately) for the 16GB model, which was in-line with an earlier report, and $499 (Rs. 30,600 approximately) for the 32GB LTE variant.
The yet-to-be-announced Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 were purportedly spotted in a recent Google ad campaign.
Purported specifications of the Google Nexus 6 smartphone include a quad-core Snapdragon 805 clocked at 2.65GHz; 3GB of RAM, and a screen resolution of 1440x2560 (QHD) pixels; a 5.9-inch display offering a pixel density of 496ppi; a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS with a "new dual-flash ring configuration"; a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a larger than 3200mAh battery.
Some of the rumoured specifications of the HTC Nexus 9 hint at the inclusion of a 2.3GHz Tegra K1 processor along with 3GB of RAM, a 9-inch (or an 8.9-inch) full-HD display, 16GB inbuilt storage, 100GB of Google Drive storage for 2 years, external storage support for 128GB, and the much-awaited Android L.
