After the Nexus 4 8GB variant
was sold out on the Google Play store in the US earlier this month, the
16GB storage variant of the device is now also out of stock.
The US
Play store listed the Nexus 4 16GB variant as 'out of stock' on its
product page
on
Monday. According to The Verge, which sites a source, claims that the device may not be coming back
in any storage variant. However, it notes that that LG Nexus 4 still
remains on sale in other countries through the Google Play store but
once the stock ends, the device will not be available.
Not too
long ago, Google announced a price cut for the Nexus 4 smartphone. The Nexus 4 was available at a
discount of about 25 percent, which meant that the 8GB variant retailed
on Google Play Store for $199 while the 16GB variant retailed for $249.
The
news comes amidst multiple leaks related to Nexus 4 successor hitting
the Web. Earlier on Tuesday, the alleged Nexus 4 successor was spotted in new live images and a video. The leaked images of a pre-production
unit of the next Nexus smartphone revealed the front and rear panel.
The rear panel of the device included a large camera sensor at the top
right side. The front was majorly dominated by the display with no
physical buttons. The new images of the device matched the leaks we have seen as of late. A video that does not reveal much except the
alleged lockscreen of the rumoured device.
Rumoured
specifications of the next Nexus smartphone include a 5.2-inch full-HD
display, Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and 3GB of LPDDR3
RAM. The alleged Nexus 4 successor is expected to run the latest version
of the Android operating system, KitKat (Android 4.4), which will in
all likelihood release alongside the device.
