The biggest highlight of the Pioneer P5L (2016) smartphone is it features 4G LTE as well as voice over LTE (VoLTE). According to the official Gionee listing, the Pioneer P5L (2016) supports the two LTE bands in India - FDD 1800MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40).
The Chinese company in 2014 initially unveiled the Gionee Pioneer P5L, priced at Rs. 10,000 and was compatible with India's 4G LTE frequencies.
For specifications, the Gionee Pioneer P5L (2016) features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based smartphone runs Amigo 3.1 UI on top. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. It packs 16GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on board. Connectivity options, apart from 4G, include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
Measuring 143.5x72x8.3mm, the Pioneer P5L (2016) will be available in Black, Blue, Gold, Red, White, and Yellow colours. It is backed by a 2300mAh battery rated to deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and a standby time of up to 300 hours on 3G network. The smartphone weighs nearly 147 grams and comes preloaded with WhatsApp, Facebook, Snapdeal, WPS office, 360 Security lite, Clean master, and Hungama apps among others.
