Motorola itself calls the Moto G an "Exceptional phone" at an "Exceptional price", further cementing Flipkart's teaser to be for the successor of the Moto G. Previous leaks have indicated that the successor to the Moto G will feature a larger (if not higher-resolution) display, and dual-front speakers like the Moto E. This would tie-in nicely with the teasers that Flipkart has posted on Twitter.
However, the teaser images may also point to new software features, as with the first image a network signal strength indicator is visible - hinting at perhaps a new lock screen or home screen feature based around camera-centric wallpapers. The second teaser, with its media controls and speaker symbol, may again hint at a new lock screen or home screen feature for the native music player.
Previous leaks have indicated the successor to the Moto G, which may be called the Moto G2 or the New Moto G, will feature a 5-inch 720p HD display (compared to 4.5-inch display on the Moto G); thinner bezels than its predecessor; an 8-megapixel camera (instead of the 5-megapixel one on the Moto G), a 2-megapixel front camera (instead of the 2-megapixel one on the Moto G); front stereo speakers, support for microSD card, a Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 CPU; an Adreno 305 GPU; 1GB of RAM; 8GB of internal storage, and run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with an upgrade path to Android L.
Notably earlier this week, Flipkart on its Moto G page had posted the message "Thank you for making the Moto G launch a success. Back in stock in a few days. Exclusively on Flipkart." Apart from hinting at the arrival of the successor, the message also hinted at the smartphone bearing the same name. The company may have also revealed the pricing of the new model, with a listing of Rs. 13,490 on the same page - with an 'Explore now' option.
