Coolpad India is all set to launch two new smartphones in the country on Wednesday, at a New Delhi event scheduled to begin at 12:30pm IST. The Chinese company has already revealed which smartphones it is launching at the event - the Note 3S and Mega 3 - however, details are scarce about their features and specifications.
We can expect the Coolpad Note 3S to be launched as the successor to the Coolpad Note 3 that was launched last October. In the intervening period, Coolpad has also launched the Coolpad Note 3 Lite and Coolpad Note 3 Plus variants of the smartphone.
The Coolpad Mega 3 can be expected to be launched as the successor to the Coolpad Mega 2.5D (Review), which launched in August.
For now, no pricing or availability details are known about the new Coolpad smartphones. However, speculation has it that both the Coolpad Note 3S and Coolpad Mega 3 will sport price tags under Rs. 10,000. It can also be expected that Coolpad, like most of its previous launches in the country, will launch the phones exclusively on Amazon India. The Coolpad Note 3S and Coolpad Mega 3 are expected to feature 5.5-inch displays, and offer dual-SIM and 4G VoLTE support.
Of course, in the sub-Rs. 10,000 range, the new Coolpad smartphones will face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi, LeEco, and Lenovo - which on Tuesday launched the Lenovo K6 Power smartphone in India at Rs. 9,999. The smartphone bears a 4000mAh battery and a 5-inch full-HD display apart from a fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos technology.
