"With Coolpad Dazen, we want to lead the next wave of disruption in the Indian smartphone market, with high quality devices, game-changing specs and innovation designed especially for our Indian customers," Coolpad Dazen India CEO Varun Sharma said in a statement.
"At Snapdeal, we are committed to making Coolpad's maiden launch in India a big success. We are positive that we will see a tremendous response from our wide user base towards this launch," Snapdeal Senior Vice President - Electronics and Home, Tony Navin said.
The company recently announced its entry into the Indian market, and appointed former Flipkart executive Varun Sharma as the India CEO. Coolpad Dazen also confirmed that it will soon set up R&D centre alongside a manufacturing plant in the country as part of the 'Make in India' campaign.
Commenting on the upcoming launch in India, Li Wang, Global Chief Operating Officer, Coolpad Dazen said, "India is the fastest growing online smartphone market in the world and we want to be a leader in this market... We are confident with our patented technological innovations; Coolpad Dazen will become India's number one smartphone brand in the online space," Wang in his statement clearly hints that Coolpad Dazen will target online smartphone space.
Some other popular Chinese brands that already exist in the Indian market include Huawei, Oppo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, ZTE (alongside the recent entry of its Nubia brand), and Meizu. It will be interesting to see how Coolpad Dazen establishes itself in the Indian market despite so much competition.
The company earlier this month also announced it will be bringing its 'patented frameless smartphone' in India within the year, stressing on the design's visual experience as well as functionality.
