Incidentally, as per some reports Samsung Galaxy S4 is going to start retailing in UK from April 26 as well.
The BlackBerry Q10 comes with the brand new BlackBerry 10 operating system (Review). It sports a 3.1-inch super AMOLED touchscreen. There is 8-megapixel camera on-board. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and NFC. BlackBerry Q10 also packs in 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 2100mAh battery. It was earlier touted that BlackBerry Q10 will start retailing 8 to 10 weeks after BlackBerry Z10.
It is a bit of a surprise that the price of BlackBerry Q10 is slightly higher than BlackBerry Z10 (Review | Pictures). The unlocked BlackBerry Z10 is available for approximately 515 pounds (including VAT). Moreover, BlackBerry Q10 will be a QWERTY offering and hence has a smaller screen so we expected its price to be at least $50 less compared to the BlackBerry Z10. However, now it seems otherwise.
BlackBerry had launched BlackBerry Z10 (Review | Pictures) on January 30 along with BlackBerry 10 operating system. It started out well in UK, though the recent sales reports for this smartphone are not too encouraging. Ubergizmo.com via blogs.barron has reported that US pre-orders for BlackBerry Z10 are below expectations. AT&T had started taking prebookings for the BlackBerry Z10 from March 12 and Verizon from March 14.
BlackBerry Z10 started retailing in India from February for Rs. 43,490. Currently, there is no word on when BlackBerry Q10 will start shipping in India.
