An as-yet-unannounced Asus ZenFone smartphone with model ZC451CG and featuring entry-level specifications has surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG website. The website says the device is the "successor of hot selling smartphone model- ZenFone."
First spotted by Android Police, the Asus ZC451CG runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company's own ZenUI on top. The smartphone features a 4.5-inch display with an FWVGA (854x480 pixels) resolution and is powered by an unspecified dual-core Intel processor with 1GB of RAM. Also housed onboard is a 5-megapixel rear and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is backed by a 2100mAh battery.
While there is no information on when the Asus smartphone will be launched, it is being speculated that the company, like it had with the original ZenFone lineup at the CES 2014 event, reveal the smartphone along with other models at CES 2015.
Asus earlier this month launched its ZenFone 5 Lite in India priced at a Rs. 8,999. The ZenFone 5 (A502CG) is a lite-variant of the ZenFone 5 (A501CG) smartphone. The dual-SIM Asus ZenFone 5 (A502CG) runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with ZenUI and features a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) display.
Since the handset is a lite-version, it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with Hyper-Threading (2 cores, 4 threads, 1MB cache,) coupled with 1GB of RAM as opposed to the ZenFone 5 (A501CG) - which comes with a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading that's coupled with 2GB of RAM.
Asus also launched its PadFone mini smartphone-tablet hybrid in India, priced at Rs. 15,999 last month. The device was initially announced at a CES 2014 event.
