According to Mobile Geeks, Asus launched the new ZenFone 2 ZE500KL, ZenFone 2 ZE550KL, and ZenFone 2 ZE600KL smartphones. The website also claims that the company revealed a smaller ZenFone 2 model featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor; though details about this model are limited. The launch confirms the company's plans that Asus CEO Jerry Shen had confirmed back in April saying that the company was working on a new smartphone with Snapdragon 615 processor. As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability of the new ZenFone 2 models.
The ZenFone 2 ZE500KL features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage. The handset will be also available in 3G RAM variant with 32GB inbuilt storage. It supports expandable storage via microSD card. The Zenfone 2 ZE500KL sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and also houses a 5-megapixel front camera.
The ZenFone 2 ZE550KL, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, much like the ZenFone 2 ZE500KL. There is 2GB of RAM; 16GB built-in storage, and 3000mAh battery. Much like other ZenFone 2 variants, it also sports a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera.
The ZenFone 2 ZE600KL lastly features a 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. Much like the ZenFone 2 ZE500KL, the ZenFone 2 ZE600KL will be also available in two variants - one featuring 16GB of built-in storage and 2GB of RAM and another 32GB inbuilt storage with 3GB of RAM. It also packs a 3000mAh battery. The ZenFone 2 ZE600KL also sports 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera.
Notably, all three variants feature laser-autofocus and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. Unfortunately, there is no word on dual-SIM support. Though considering all the SKUs powered by Intel chipsets supported dual-SIMs, we can expect that the ZenFone 2 ZE500KL, ZenFone 2 ZE550KL, and ZenFone 2 ZE600KL smartphones also support the feature.
