To recall, Asus introduced the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition initially back in August last year in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The model unveiled back then however featured a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. The new ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition packs a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor. The handset packs 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 128GB inbuilt storage. It supports an additional 128GB storage via microSD card.
The highlight of the Special Edition of the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe is it sports rear swappable covers which will be available in Drift Silver and modish Carbon Night colours. Asus claims that the Drift Silver rear cover of the handset features multi-faceted tactile finish and is made up of over 500 polygons. On the other hand, the Carbon Night rear panel sports weave-patterns. The ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition will also come preloaded with Asphalt 8: Airborne bundle, which will offer additional free 24000 coins to users.
The dual-SIM dual Micro-SIM handset also supports 4G LTE and is compatible with Indian LTE bands. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition will run ZenUI on top. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-colour real tone flash. There is a 5-megapixel fixed-focus front camera also on board. The handset is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. It measures 152.5x77.2x10.9mm and weighs 170 grams. The Special Edition of the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe packs e-compass, gyroscope, proximity, and ambient light sensors.
