The rumoured Padfone Mini was been leaked via an unofficial press render. The leaked press render comes courtesy phone tipster, @evleaks who posted the image on Twitter and writes, "PadFone mini 4.3, 2013." The tweet clearly points about the Padfone Mini's launch by end of 2013.
Further, the leaked press render shows the alleged Padfone Mini smartphone and the tablet docking station. The render suggest that the smartphone would slide into the tablet dock in portrait mode, similar to earlier Padfone models.
In addition, Engadget in a report claimed that the alleged Padfone Mini was spotted at a Global Certification Forum (GSF) listing which revealed some of the specifications of the device. Further, the site also claimed that Asus is purportedly sending invites for an event in Taiwan on December 11.
As per the report, the rumoured Padfone Mini smartphone is said to boast a 4.3-inch display with qHD (540x960) resolution, while the tablet dock is likely to come with 7-inch display with HD (720p) display. The alleged 4.3-inch smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor alongside 1GB of RAM. For now though, there is no word on the inbuilt storage, battery, camera and OS of both the 4.3-inch Padfone Mini smartphone and 7-inch tablet docking station. Pricing details for the rumoured Padfone Mini for now remain unknown.
