As we reported earlier, Asus is all set to launch the PadFone 2 in simultaneous events at Milan and Taipei on October 16. Not much was known regarding the specifications of the device.

Now, courtesy mobile01, a leaked image, of what looks like the rear of the device package box reveals detailed specs of the PadFone 2. The image here shows LTE+HSPA support, a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 4.7-inch Super IPS+ HD display (1280x720 pixels). Other features include a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and Zero shutter lag. It is expected to feature 1080p HD video recording. There's a 1.2MP front camera as well.

Further connectivity options listed are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n,Bluetooth4.0., Micro-USB with MHL alongside GPS and AGPS support. It will come with a 2140mAh battery. The device weighs 135g and sports 9mm thickness.

The specs of the PadFone 2 closely resemble those of the LG Optimus G. Though the device will feature the Android OS, it isn't clear which version. Though we feel Jelly Bean should be the preferred version.

An earlier leaked benchmark revealed that the PadFone 2 will pack in a quad-core 1512MHz processor and 2GB RAM, which is an upgrade over its predecessor equipped with a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and 1GB RAM.

The Asus PadFone 2 is a successor to the 3-in-1 unique hybrid multi-functional device that recently came to India. It offers the combined experience of a smartphone, tablet and netbook at a price of Rs.64,999.
