In line with our exclusive report earlier revealing the India price and availability details of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple India sent an email late on Sunday confirming October 17 availability of the two new iPhone models.
Apple did not announce a price for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in India, and left it for its authorised partners - Ingram Micro, Redington, Rashi Peripherals and Reliance - to share the same. NDTV Gadgets understands this announcement is likely to come early this week.
Also in line with our earlier report, Apple confirmed that customers can pre-order the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus starting this week, specifically Tuesday, October 7.
While Apple may not have officially announced the price for the new iPhone models, as reported earlier, NDTV Gadgets has learnt that the iPhone 6 16GB variant will be available in India at a price of Rs. 53,500, while the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus will start at Rs. 62,500.
The 64GB and 128GB 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be priced at Rs. 62,500 and Rs. 71,500 respectively. Similarly, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus will cost Rs. 71,500 for the 64GB variant, before topping at Rs. 80,500 for the 128GB variant.
Apple announced the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the biggest iPhone models till date, on September 9. The phones received over 4 million pre-orders within 24 hours, and opening weekend sales topped 10 million, though the launch has been far from smooth for Apple.
The company had to deal with the Bendgate controversy, and has also been embarrassed by a series of bugs in iOS 8, the OS that comes pre-installed on the new iPhone models.
