Android 5.0 Lollipop Wi-Fi Bug Affecting Some Users
Android 5.0 Lollipop seems to have been hit by another Wi-Fi related bug that is giving problems hooking up to Wi-Fi networks to users currently running the latest Android build on their Nexus devices. The bug so far doesn't seem to be affecting non-Nexus devices.

Google on Wednesday finally announced the Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA rollout for older Nexus devices (namely, the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013), and Nexus 10) alongside Motorola, which also started rolling out an OTA update for its second-generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones.

Reporting the bug on the Android-Developer Preview site titled "Trouble connecting to some Wi-Fi networks", the Android 5.0 Lollipop users are claiming that Nexus devices are failing in Wi-Fi connection.

Google has acknowledged the issue and a Project Member notes, "Thank you for reporting this issue. We have passed this on to the development team and will update this issue with more information as it becomes available." The Google employee however did not give a time frame for the problem being fixed.

One of the users reported, "I'm having the same issues [Wi-Fi conection] on my new nexus 9 tablet. My nexus 5 connects no problem to my work Wi-Fi, but the nexus 9 tries to connect and then gives me the message network saved. No connection. Have tried all the above ideas, no luck."

Another user claimed to be running an official Android Lollipop build wrote, "Having the same issue at work on our guest WI-FI network. After I enter my password it never connects it just sits there saying it is connecting but it never does...I am running the official lollipop build LRX21O."

Notably, the Android 5.0 Lollipop global rollout was earlier delayed till November 12 due to some 'outstanding bugs'. The bug was later said to be the Nexus 5's battery drain Wi-Fi bug that caused the rollout of the latest version to be delayed. Google however in no time acknowledged the battery drain issue and even claimed that it was fixed.
