Samsung France has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 3's lite variant, the
Galaxy Note 3 Neo, will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop this year.
While
replying to a user's question on Twitter, Samsung France (translated by
Bing) said, "The Lollipop update will be actually deployed on
#GalaxyNote3Neo in the course of the year!"
Unfortunately, the
South Korean giant is yet to reveal a time-frame for the release of the
Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo.
Samsung
has lately been pushing out Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for its
high-end Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note
3.
Earlier this week, Android 5.0 Lollipop update was reported to be rolling out over-the-air (OTA) to users of the
Samsung Galaxy S5 in India. The company initially started pushing out
the Android Lollipop update to the Galaxy S5 handset in Europe, starting
with Poland. Samsung was also reportedly rolling out the Android 5.0
Lollipop OTA update
earlier this month for the Galaxy Note 3 devices in India.
To
recall, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo was launched
last year in January and ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.
Much
like Samsung's Galaxy Note phablet series, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo
features the S Pen stylus. Other specifications include a 5.5-inch HD
(720x1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display; 2GB of RAM; 16GB inbuilt
storage; expandable up to 64GB via microSD card, and 3100mAh battery. It
came with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor and a
2-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo came
preloaded with apps such as Samsung ChatON, Samsung WatchON, Samsung
Link, Screen Mirroring, S Voice, S Health, Group Play, Smart Scroll,
Smart Pause, Air View, Story Album and S Translator among others.
