Now, the South Korean giant seems to be gearing up to release the update to more devices and regions. A Reddit post by someone claiming to be a Samsung employee reveals that the Samsung USA is planning to soon release the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 followed by the phablets Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.
The post (via BGR) titled "Samsung confirmed L release in Jan" claims that the company has sent internal mails to stores to get prepared for the new year and also for Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its devices. The employee further added that the company "gave instructions on how to prepare" for the update. Interestingly, the post was 'verified' by a Reddit moderator on Wednesday, lending it some authenticity.
The post said, "Unfortunately no dates in this email, however there have been some information that's slipped through the cracks. As far as materials go, there was some information on our internal website talking about how to approach talking about the Lollipop update, which didn't do much but say - Tell them it's coming soon."
The 'Samsung employee' also suggested that after Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, and Galaxy Note Edge, the company is expected to rollout Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 in the next wave.
The claims are in line with a roadmap revealed by Samsung Finland website that had surfaced last week.
So far no official announcement regarding the rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy devices have been made by the company. The company back in October had teased Android Lollipop update for the phablet Galaxy Note 4; though there have been no further developments.
